Are you ready to discover power word number 3? It is Acceptance! Jim Rohn has said, “You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.” I believe power word #3 is so important to practice putting on every single day.We have no control of the circumstances around us but we do have the power to decide what we think about it. As human beings, we will fail and make mistakes, things will not go as planned or hoped, and life will not go how we thought. This is normal! This is living life on life’s terms. There is the 50/50 of life. There are things we like and enjoy and things that we might wish weren’t in our story. As we embrace and accept all of it, we suffer less. I love asking myself this question…Would I do it again? This allows me to accept where I am right now and also accept that I can always decide again if I want to continue to choose what I am doing. The power of decision making is within each one of us. Acting As If…is a good idea when we practice acceptance. From the book, Language of Letting Go, Melody Beattie said, “Acting as if is a way to practice the positive. It’s a positive form of pretending. It’s a tool we use to get ourselves unstuck.
